The CHT program covers 6 Mandalas (modules) with 18 Upamandalas:
- Foundation of Hindu Tradition — HSCI's vision, Hindu philosophy, the diaspora experience
- Bhagavad Gita and Hindu Scriptures — karma yoga, tapatraya, meditation, selfless service
- Counseling and Chaplaincy — grief, ethics, compassionate presence, spiritual care assessment
- Hindu Rites and Life Events — samskaras, end-of-life care, healing and transformation
- Householders and Professionals — family harmony, career fulfillment, community service
- Preparing for Service — reflection, documentation, fieldwork, your community service plan
Where It Leads
CHT Certificate → GTU MA in Interreligious Chaplaincy (12 credits transfer) → Hindu CPE → Board Certification (BCCI/APC)
HSCI is the only institution offering a complete Hindu chaplaincy pathway from community volunteer to board-certified chaplain, in partnership with the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) in Berkeley, California.
