HCRC Mission

Under the umbrella of the Hindu Spiritual Care Institute (HSCI), the Hindu Chaplaincy Resource Center (HCRC) is dedicated to providing reliable, authentic information to support inter-religious spiritual care. The HCRC strives to promote education, training, and the effective utilization of spiritual care resources, making them accessible to HSCI members and interested individuals from other traditions worldwide.

To be a trusted centre of knowledge and support for chaplains and caregivers worldwide, whatever their tradition or location.

HCRC Functions

The functions of HCRC support the global network of Hindu Chaplains and Counselors and provide guidance and mentoring to aspirants of chaplaincy education. HCRC provides free information to the public in the following areas:

• Hindu Chaplaincy Guide: Published in 2025. Covers spiritual care practice for both Hindu and non-Hindu chaplains, including Hindu rites, scripture, and bedside protocol for hospitals, hospices, prisons, and campuses.
           Available for purchase on the HSCI website.

• Reference Library of HSCI Texts, Publications & Case Studies: Scholarly resources reviewed against HCRC acceptance criteria, available to practitioners and researchers.

• Mentorship Services for Chaplains and Scholars of Chaplaincy: HSCI matches inquiries from around the world with a mentor suited to the question, whether that is professional development or a specific chaplaincy problem.

• HSCI Speaker Series & Interfaith Outreach: Seminars and workshops with scholars and practitioners, open across traditions and professional associations.
