Bring Hindu Spiritual Care to Your Institution
HSCI provides trained, insured, and HIPAA-certified Hindu chaplains and counselors to hospitals, universities, hospices, and care facilities across the United States.
What We Offer
Institutions partnering with HSCI gain access to:
- Trained Hindu counselors — graduates of the Counselor of Hindu Tradition (CHT) program, with 252 alumni across 9 countries
- Tele-chaplaincy via TrayaCare — WhatsApp-based spiritual care accessible 24/7, requiring no app downloads or IT integration
- On-site and virtual support — grief counseling, last rites guidance, stress and burnout care, and pre-marriage counseling
- Multilingual counselors — available in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, and Bengali
Governance & Liability
HSCI operates with established business controls and protections for all stakeholders.
Liability Insurance
HSCI carries a nonprofit liability insurance policy through the United States Liability Insurance Company, covering Directors & Officers (D&O), Errors & Omissions (E&O), and general liability — protecting management, service providers, and staff.
Service Agreements
All HSCI service providers sign a service agreement upon completing onboarding training. These agreements are renewable after periodic retraining and update of the terms of service.
HIPAA Certification
All HSCI counselors are required to complete individual HIPAA certification as part of their onboarding. This ensures that every counselor providing spiritual care in healthcare settings understands and adheres to patient privacy requirements.
Case Study: The Claremont Colleges
QR Partnership for Hindu Tele-Chaplaincy — Seven Claremont Colleges
Since November 2025, HSCI has partnered with The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS) to provide Hindu tele-spiritual-care services to the Claremont community — particularly where in-person Hindu chaplaincy services are not practical or feasible. The intended receivers are primarily individuals and families who identify as Hindus, as well as non-Hindu chaplains seeking advisory services on Hindu matters.
How It Works — 3-Step QR Process
- A student or staff member scans the QR code on campus and submits a service request with their preferred language, topic, and response time (24 or 48 hours)
- An HSCI chaplain responds with their profile and a meeting link
- A tele-visit is held and feedback is collected from both parties
Services Covered
- Religious matters — celebration, passage of life
- Identity issues — roots, culture, worldview
- Relationship conflicts — family, peers, community
- Pre-marriage guidance, including interfaith
Privacy & Security Standards
- All sessions strictly confidential
- Encrypted, password-protected platforms only
- Session records stored in encrypted systems
- Informed consent obtained before every session
- Mandatory chaplain retraining every 4–6 months
Both HSCI and TCCS professionals adhere to Title VI, Title IX, and all applicable federal and state civil rights laws.
